Last July I finished my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at TU Delft, and this year I am Lead Control for Delft Hyperloop 11.
Joining the team felt like the natural next step. Ever since Delft Hyperloop 1 won the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, I have been fascinated by the hyperloop as a fast, efficient and sustainable way to travel.
The Control department is six engineers, including me. We write the control software that lets a pod weighing several tonnes levitate and propel itself stably, to within a fraction of a millimetre. As lead, I am responsible for how well we work together as a department and for our communication with the other departments. I bring experience from many group projects and the software engineering skills I gained during my Computer Science minor at TU Delft, and I’m looking forward to making this year a success.
